My Aviva France

Designing and delivering a new MyAviva Insurance Platform, for French users and Insurance brokers.

Project kick off

The aim of this project was to improve the overall usability of the existing product’s UX and UI for MVP. This product involved re-skinning and improving the journeys for:

  • Sign in/Registration

  • Signed in homepage

  • Profile page

  • Error page

  • Help ribbon

  • Product details page

  • Lost contract number

  • Agent details journey

I started by doing some desk research into customers and the existing site, and I created a site map.

Mapping out existing journeys

The aim of this project was to improve the overall usability of the existing product’s UX and UI for MVP. I started the project by putting together the existing UX journeys for the Aviva & Moi product.

Looking at the other products

I looked at the other My Aviva products that had been launched globally, e.g UK & Poland.

Agent concept

A problem identified with delivering and making a success of My Aviva France was down to the way that customers interact with insurance products. At the start of this project the Aviva & Moi product was being used by over 11000 users per month. The culture of insurance in France is such that customers tend to use brokers and agencies to buy and manage their insurance. Therefore in unifying the product with the other My Aviva global products we had to include specific use cases for the French users who wanted to be able to access agent details very easily.

Designing the wireframes in Sketch

Once I had all of the information I needed I made a start on designing the new journeys. I took a mobile first approach to the designs, ensuing I had the mobile version designed before working on the desktop I worked very closely with the product manager and the team in france to ensure the new designs would stay in line with customers expectations, and make it more usable for them.

Creating the Invision prototype

I had created the prototype in Invision, and once we had the visual designs we updated it ahead of the user testing. I also mapped out the user journeys that the interviewer would be taking the user through in testing.
